Collision & Refinishing Technology Students Refurbish Vehicle for Veteran in Need

St. Philip’s College Collision & Refinishing Technology students are applying their acquired skills and knowledge to a good cause. During the Fall 2020 semester, students will be refurbishing a Nissan Cube for a San Antonio community veteran. The vehicle was donated to the program by ProCare Collision, a local body shop that helps donate cars through various programs in the community.

“We are excited to help students get real-world experience while also honoring a veteran in their community,” said Mark Fuller, Regional Manager at ProCare Collision.

The SPC Collision & Refinishing Technician program provides students with the skill-set to pursue a career in the highly competitive field of Collision and Refinishing repair. The Nissan Cube project is an example of how the program brings real-world industry experience to provide students the knowledge needed to reshape and restore a wide range of vehicles. Students train with the tools, equipment and technology used in collision repair centers across the country. Upon program completion, students can become a collision repair technician, automotive refinishing technician, damage estimator, production manager, or a small body shop owner.
